Self-Care on a Saturday Afternoon: Tea and Ambience

Hello all!


This past Saturday I was feeling anxious, stressed and just upset in general. I decided to do a little self-care. In this post I will share with you what I did and how it went!


I have been loving ambience videos


There are so many talented artists on YouTube making ambience videos. They include a scene (still or with motion), music and/or certain sounds.


The videos have a wide variety of themes. For example, you can find Christmas ones that show a nicely decorated living room with Christmas sounds playing.


These ambience videos can be great for relaxing, doing daily household tasks, falling asleep, reading, studying and more.


This is the ambience video I chose:


It is called Ambient Chillout Lounge Relaxing Music and it includes quite a few songs by a music artists named, Jjos.


I chose this one because the scene is beautiful and I like lounge music.


Of course I love tea!


Hot tea always relaxes me a bit. Even if it has caffeine in it (does that make any sense at all?).


Tea may not be everyone's preference but for me it is a daily necessity. It is a total delight for my senses (unless I do not like the flavor of the tea that is)!


The tea I chose to drink on this particular day was Bigelow's Jasmine Green Tea. I had a couple bags around and it seemed like a great choice.


Putting them together


So once I found the ambience video (I put it on my smart TV), I brewed up a cup of the green tea in my favorite mug. When it was done I turned on the video and sat in the chair that I usually read in.


The music in the video contains some absolutely amazing songs for relaxation. That combined with the delicate floral taste the jasmine in the green tea gives off, caused me to get into a better mindset.


After a very short while, the stress melted away and I was just "being."


Self-care is important


Life is hard. We all deserve and need some time where we can just relax a little bit. Get ourselves back to homeostasis so to speak.


What I did for self-care on this day was perfect for me and worked out really well. I would highly recommend ambience videos and this particular Bigelow tea if you are interested in them.
