I just came up with some delicious cookies using Bigelow's Vanilla Caramel Black Tea product and the candy/chocolate chips that I had in my kitchen.
If this sounds good to you, read on for the recipe!
Yummy cookies!
I had originally bought the Vanilla Caramel Black Tea to use in oatmeal and just to drink but today I decided that it might be good in cookies.
It definitely was!
I used the chocolate stuff I had around-chocolate chips and Kit Kats to make the cookies extra yummy. The taste of the tea is subtle in the base of the cookie but definitely there. Also, the smell of them is wonderful as it fills the kitchen.
Without further ado, here is the recipe-
Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
3 tea bags of Bigelow Vanilla Caramel Black tea
3/4 cup butter, melted
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated white sugar
1/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce (or 1 egg)
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups mixture of chocolate chips and cut up Kit Kats
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease baking sheets or line with parchment paper, set aside.
In a large bowl mix the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, salt and the contents of two tea bags together. Set aside.
In another bowl, melt the butter. After it has been melted, steep the remaining bag of tea in it for four minutes. Take the tea bag out after that time.
Add in the sugars, applesauce (or egg) and vanilla to the butter. Stir until smooth.
Add the butter mixture to the flour mixture and stir until it all comes together.
Put on gloves. Smash the chocolate chips and cut up Kit Kats into the dough (or you can stir them in if you want).
Drop the dough on the prepared baking sheets. There should be 24 clumps of dough in all.
Bake until edges are golden brown. Should be around 8-12 minutes (mine took 10). Do not over bake them. They will be hard and unpleasant to eat!
Remove from the oven and let the cookies to cool down for a 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet. Transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling.
Yum!
I hope you like these
I really like these cookies. It was super fun making them and they turned out great.
I know not everyone will like them and that is fine! If you choose to make them, give me some feedback on them.
