My Home Gym

As I stated in the exercise page on my site, I am passionate about exercising and staying fit. I first started working out in a gym. As the years went by I realized that working out at home was more my style.

My exercise routines at home consisted of doing DVDs with small weights. I was able to get pretty good workouts in but I did want to have access to heavier weights. Then came the Powerblock set!

Buying a bunch of dumbbells is really expensive. One day I came across Powerblocks (see here: http://www.powerblock.com/prod_homeuse_elite5-50.php). They are weight sets that replace the need for having to buy dumbbells of different weights.

For me at the time, the price of getting one of the sets seemed like a lot. I did end up buying them anyways and I am really glad that I did. The set I got goes up to 50 pounds per hand and has held up very well over the years.

They are an integral part to my weekly workout routine. If anyone reading this is looking into having a home gym, I would highly recommend them or something like it.

I currently do my HIIT workouts with a cardio ladder. This is another relatively cheap item to add to a home gym. Also, the colorful square floor pads are a great investment as they make it more comfortable to workout on than the floor.

In conclusion, my workout area does not include very many items. This is fine because I am still able to get awesome workouts in using the things I do have. Check out my little gym below:

Not much to see but I love it!
